Following are some of the recommended performance monitoring and maintenance
tasks for the dampers. The frequency of these tasks should be as indicated or based on operating
experience -
External visual inspections of damper movement - semi annual
Internal visual inspection of the damper blade seals (mainly important
for isolation function) - annual.
Lubrication of damper blades shaft bearings as required - as required
Calibration of the damper blade & actuator positioning - annual
Following are the recommended maintenance tasks for the actuators -
Pneumatic -
External visual inspection of the linkages and lubrication as required
Periodic replacement of the diaphram or piston seals
Periodic replacement of the solenoid valves
Electric motor -
External visual inspection of the linkages and lubrication as required
Lubrication of the reduction gears and mechanisms
Electro Hydraulic -
External visual inspection of the linkages and lubrication as required
Change hydraulic oil and filter
Calibration of internal controls
Periodic overhaul and replacement of internal components - piston and
shaft seals, pump and motor, solenoid valves, etc.
